বিশ্বকোষ (ইংৰাজী ভাষা: Encyclopedia) এক উদ্ধৃতি কাৰ্য বা সংগ্ৰহ য'ত সকলো বিষয় বা কোনো বিশেষ বিষয়ৰ সাৰাংশ পোৱা যায়। বিশ্বকোষত প্ৰায় কেইবাটাও প্ৰবন্ধ থাকে যি সাধাৰণতে বৰ্ণমালাৰ ক্ৰমত শৃংখলিত কৰা হয়।^১ কেতিয়াবা বিষয়গত বৰ্গীকৰণো দেখা যায়। বিশ্বকোষত যিকোনো বিষয়ৰ তথ্য সাধাৰণতে অভিধানতকৈ অধিক থাকে।^১ অভিধানৰ বিপৰীতে বিশ্বকোষত ভাষিক গুণাগুণ যেনে শব্দোদ্ভৱ, ব্যাকৰণগত ব্যৱহাৰ আদি নাথাকে, বৰং সাধাৰণ তথ্য সমৃদ্ধ জ্ঞান প্ৰদান কৰা হয়। ^২৩৪৫

প্ৰায় দুহাজাৰ বৰ্ষৰপৰা বিশ্বকোষ অস্তিত্বত আছে। পলিনি দ্য এল্ডাৰৰ প্ৰথম শতিকাৰ নেচুৰেলিচ হিষ্টৰিয়া এক প্ৰাচীন বিশ্বকোষ যি ৰ'ম সাম্ৰাজ্যত লিখা হৈছিল। এটিম'লজিয়ে মধ্যযুগৰ প্ৰথম বিশ্বকোষ বুলি গণ্য কৰা হয় যি ৰাইচ'দ'ৰ অৱ চেভাইলৰ সৃষ্টি।
