শব্দতত্ত্ব

লেছবিয়ান শব্দটো ইংৰাজী ভাষা ভাষাৰ পৰা আহিছে। ১৯৪৭ চনত লেছবিয়ান শব্দটি পোন-প্ৰথমবাৰৰ বাবে প্ৰকাশিত হয়। লেছবিয়ান শব্দটো গ্ৰীচ দেশৰ লেছব' নামৰ দ্বীপমালাৰ পৰা আহিছে। কথিত আছে যে, খ্ৰীষ্টপূৰ্ব ষষ্ঠ শতিকাত এই দ্বীপৰ ছাঁফো নামৰ এগৰাকী কবি/শিক্ষয়িত্ৰীয়ে মহিলাৰ সমকামী যৌন জীৱনক লৈ কাব্য ৰচনা কৰি 'কবিতা উৎসৱ' পালন কৰিছিল।^১০১১ প্ৰথমে লেছবিয়ান বুলিলে 'লেছব' দ্বীপৰ অধিবাসী' বুজালেও, পৰৱৰ্তী পৰ্যায়ত নাৰীৰ সমকামিতাৰ লগত এই শব্দ যুক্ত হৈ পৰে।

সমকামিতা
