তিল (; বৈজ্ঞানিক নাম Sesamum indicum) এবিধ Sesamum গোত্ৰৰ ফুলৰ গছ। ইয়াৰ ওচৰ সম্বন্ধীয় উদ্ভিদ আফ্ৰিকাত যথেষ্ট পোৱা যায়। ভাৰততো ইয়াৰ কিছু জাতিত দেখা যায়। খোৱা বীজ হিচাপে ব্যৱহাৰ হোৱা তিল বিষুৱ অঞ্চলত যথেষ্ট পৰিমাণে খেতি হয়। সাধাৰণেত ইয়াৰ ফুল ৰং হালধীয়া হয় যদিও কিছু কিছু জাতৰ নীলা অথবা বেঙুনীয়াও দেখা যায়।

ইয়াৰ গছৰ উচ্চতা ৫০ ছে.মি. ৰ পৰা ১০০ ছে.মি.ৰ ভিতৰত হয়। পাত বিলাক গছডালৰ পৰস্পৰৰ বিপৰীত দিশত থাকে আৰু প্ৰায় ৪ ৰ পৰা ১৪ ছে.মি. দীঘল হয়। গছ জোপা গুৰি অংশই প্ৰায় ৫ ছে.মি. অঞ্চল অধিকাৰ কিৰ থাকে। ওপৰ দিশত ই ক্ৰমান্বেয় পাতল হৈ গৈ থাকে আৰু ফুল ফুলা অঞ্চলটো প্ৰায় ১ ছে.মি. বহল হয়ৈগ। ফুলবোৰ বগাৰ পৰা বেঙুনীয়া বৰণৰ হয়। ই টিলিঙা আকাৰৰ, প্ৰায় ৩ ৰ পৰা ৫ ছে.মি. দীঘল আৰু মুখত চাৰিটা ধেনুভিৰীয়া অংশ থাকে।
